The near invisible aligners are made of a type of thermoplastic material, which has been exclusively developed for the Invisalign treatment plan. The trays look very similar to tooth whitening trays and are almost invisible. The trays are then custom made in certain sequence that is prescribed here at the practice.
During your treatment, you will be given a number of aligners. Each one will make a minor correction to tooth position. This process that is planned out in advance specific to you. Upon wearing the aligners your teeth will gradually move from their current position. After approximately two weeks, you will begin using the next set of aligners, which will continue the tooth straightening process.
Invisalign aligners move your teeth through the appropriate employment of a measured force. The main difference is that Invisalign not only controls the force, but also the timing of the force application. During each stage, only certain teeth are allowed to move. We determine these movements during the planning stage of your unique treatment plan.
Treatment times vary from a few months to a year for most easy moderate cases; complex ones will take longer, and you may wish to make fine adjustments at the end for which we will not charge you. We will give you an idea of the timescale at the final planning appointment.
